The annual Spin-A-Thon is changing gears and mixing up the action! Our goal is the same: to ride and move so that kids have access to sports and education. This year there will be two simultaneous Spin-A-Thon engagement points. The Ride and The Move are part of a week-long event set to take place between February 14th-20th and will kick off with a free virtual celebration held on January 28th. The kickoff celebration is an opportunity for both community connection and building momentum for The Ride and The Move.
If you want to view the recording from the Kickoff Event on January 28th go here.
If you are ready to register for The Ride and The Move, February 14 – 20 go here.
So, what is The Ride and The Move? It is a fresh and fun way of bringing community together to support youth athletics and raise money for our Grant Program. Read on to find all of the elements of both The Ride and The Move along with a Q&A sheet. We will update this post from now until the event as ideas and plans are evolving. The Ride
Two options to register, choose one with your $100 contribution:
- All Access Virtual: We will take you through a guided virtual experience of our exciting and community driven Spin-A-Thon event with four live virtual back-to-back spin classes on February 14th. These classes can be taken by anyone, spin bike not required! We encourage you to think outside of the box when it comes to virtual spin classes and use an elliptical machine or treadmill or just go for a run and use the virtual class as your pacing guide focusing on resistance rather than gear increases. Our virtual instructors want to see you participate in whichever way feels right for you.
- All Access In Person: An in-person spin class will be offered on February 20 in the MAC member garage. From 10.30am – 11.30am we will have 30 bikes available to fill each hour. This class will be taught live by Lisa Bendt, a MAC spin instructor with MAC sanitized equipment and will follow all COVID-19 safety protocols. Participants of this level will also receive the links for the four virtual classes being held on the 14th. That way you can join us for even more miles.
Both registration options for The Ride will include:
